At the very least, they may have trouble finding what they feel are stylish, flattering clothes, since most apparel is designed for a figure of average proportions. In either case, the result can be a weakened self-image and a lack of self-confidence. In breast augmentation surgery, a soft silicone pouch filled with saline solution is inserted into the breast through an incision in the crease under the breast, in the lower edge of the areola (the dark circle around the nipple), or in the armpit. The location of the incision varies with each patient and is planned to best conceal surgical scars. The breast implants may be placed either under the breast tissue or under the muscle that lies beneath the breast tissue. Like the location of the incision, the placement of the implants depends on the individual patient’s situation.
